Ecouen

Ecouen is located about 20 km north of Paris and 15 km west of Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport.
This small village in the heart of the « Pays de France« , built at the foot of a magnificent castle, now the National Renaissance Museum, has always attracted travelers on their way from Paris to the North of France.

Long before the painters came to Ecouen, the castle was home to the Légion d’Honneur school, created by Napoleon the 1st to provide an education for the daughters of his soldiers who died on the battlefields. In 1958, the castle became the National Renaissance Museum.

The route of the painters who appreciated this village in the second half of the 19th century is educational and allows, with the help of a playful signposting, to immerse oneself in this period full of history.
We invite you to follow it and to fall, like the artists of the time, under the spell of this small town.
